The agreement
These terms apply to your use of the $pend iPhone app. Using the app means you accept them. $pend is also covered by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to apps bought from the App Store.
What $pend is — and isn't
$pend is a manual planning tool. It records what you type and does arithmetic on it.
It is not financial advice, and it is not a banking, payment, or accounting service. It does not connect to your bank, pay anything on your behalf, or verify that any figure you enter is correct. Projections are estimates based on your own entries — decisions you make with them are yours.
Your data is your responsibility
Because everything stays on your device and in your private iCloud, we cannot recover it for you. We hold no copy. Keep iCloud enabled, or keep your own backups, if the data matters to you. Exported CSV files leave the app entirely and are yours to look after.
Purchase
$pend is paid once, up front, through the App Store. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase. Payment, refunds, and re-downloads are handled by Apple under its own terms — we cannot issue refunds directly. Buying once entitles you to re-download on the same Apple ID, including through Family Sharing.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer, redistribute, or resell the app, beyond what your local law expressly allows.
No warranty
$pend is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, or financial decisions made using the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the current version always lives at this address, with the date above.
